Fishing

There are options for all types of fishing fans in Bude.

Canal - Bude canal has regular fishing matches on the canal and is regarded by the locals as great for a spot of competition. The fishermen and women are a friendly bunch and are happy to chat to passers by.

Sea - There are options to fish from the beaches, rocks at the edges of the beaches and a sweet spot is the Breakwater when the tide is coming in. There are local boats that do fishing excursions for those who are more adventurous and we have a local who regularly paddles out for a mile on his Stand Up Paddle Board (a large surfboard with a paddle) to catch his dinner.

Fly Fishing - There are a few stocked lakes nearby including a toastmasters. These are within easy reach of Bude and the family has found the trout to be wily and a good fighting fish.

Coarse - Bude has a a Coarse fishing lake on the outside of town. Just head towards Widemouth Bay from Bude and you cant miss it just as you leave town.
